What is a Business Psychologist?
A Business Psychologist works with organisations to increase the effectiveness of the workforce and improve the job satisfaction of the individual. This is achieved through a fundamental understanding of how organisations function and how individuals and small groups behave at work. The methods and techniques used are based on decades of scientific research.
Business Psychologists provide a psychological perspective to organisations on various matters such as communication, stress management, leadership and much more. This provides the organisation with the full picture in order for them to make the correct decisions.
The research base of business psychology already informs much of the best practice in HR and people management. Understanding the underlying factors affecting behaviour of employees in the workplace ensures that the interventions are tailored to the organisation, its people, its processes and its culture.
Business Psychologists are educated to post graduate level. They either have an MSc in Occupational Psychology or an MSc in Business Psychology.
